My fiance took me here for my 28th birthday and it was nothing but SPECTACULAR! There is nothing better than that dang view and good food. The food is pricey but hey, you get what you pay for. Here are the items we ordered..
- Calamari Con Limone
- Tagliatelle alla Bolognese
- Lobster Carbonara
- Amaretto Crème Brûlée
Lobster carbonara was probably my most favorite item out of all the things we've tried but we're definitely coming back for the next special occasion :) -

Came here for my bday dinner with the hubs. It was date night/celebration.
The drive up at 9:30 pm was nerve racking but the view after you get there was worth it.
The service was ok. For a restaurant this expensive and supposedly fancy, I thought the service could of been a bit better. They took a long time to take our order and didn't really come back to check up on us. However, will still give 4 stars to our server because he took a lot of time helping us take a good picture.
Food was alright. Hubby got a steak and I got the lobster. Nothing spectacular or wow. A good hearty steak and lobster. Do not expect Michelin quality. The view is what sells this place.
Old school San Jose style. Worth it once for the experience but may not return. -

I could have dealt with the bland, over-salted food. I could have dealt with the inflated prices. I could have dealt with the long wait, the age-ism, or even the crowded patio. I could have dealt with maybe 3 out of these 5 blips. But all of them? That's too much.
I phoned in a reservation because the Open Table method did not have an 'outdoor preferred' option. I requested a table on the patio, but was told that you cannot request this. Instead we showed up at 6:50 for our 7:15 reservation with hopes that we could get on a waitlist for an outside table. Nope-- we were told to come back at 7:15. We waited down by the view until 7:15, climbed back up, and were put on a waitlist for outside seating (???). All outside seating had been reserved (even though they told me that you can't reserve this). It was now dark so we just waited inside by the player-less piano. At 7:45 we were seated outside.
The patio has two types of seating: round tables with two chairs (both people have unobstructed views) or a shared long bench facing square tables with a chair opposite (one person has an obstructed view). Our table was crammed in between two other couples, one had a table the size of ours (very small, think cafe sized) and the other couple had a slightly bigger table, but still small. The couple to my right were BOTH seated on the bench, so I was rubbing against a gentleman's thigh as I tried to enjoy my over-priced meal.
I honestly cannot remember what we ordered. I was completely sober and this meal only happened a few nights ago, but it was so bland that I don't remember the food. I do remember that the potato puree side dish was thick, so thick that a spoon could have lifted the entire portion. The taste was only of cornstarch, butter, and salt. I didn't expect great food, but I did expect a level of sophistication to the dishes that I did not receive.
If you are trying to impress an out-of-town-never-gets-out visitor who possibly doesn't have all their tastebuds, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, hard pass. -

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was extremely underwhelming. I know that you can sort of justify the ridiculous food prices for the view, but we definitely won't be back. The view is not enough for the meh food and meh service.
Why ask us what we're celebrating if you guys don't plan on doing something special or a little extra? I was really disappointed.
But what was even more disappointing was the food, especially considering how much we paid. The pasta in the lobster pasta was just super cheesy and salty. Now, I love cheese, but this didn't work at all. The lobster tail was okay.
My husband's NY Waygu was tough and his lobster tail was discolored at the edges. It was this brownish-green color. How they decided to serve this anyway is beyond me. Of course, he refused to say anything.
Craving onion rings, I ordered the $11 rings, thinking they were probably some bomb ass rings if they were double the price of what I usually would pay for them. Nope. Nope. Nope.
In addition to the non-existent celebration they gave my husband and I, I found their service to also be hesitant, awkward, and uncaring.
After changing our mind from outdoor to indoor, they only helped us bring in some of our stuff. I thought they would bring in my water glass. When the server ignored it, I just grabbed it myself. That's just wrong. The customary response is, "we'll walk you to your new seats. Oh, don't worry ma'am, we'll take care of everything." Nope. Nope. Nope.
I also noticed that when other guests changed their minds and were brought back inside, the host or non-server guy would walk them all around the restaurant before settling back near the outdoor entrance, where they had come from originally. That's just awkward. And this happened every time.
Get it together! Or, manage expectations by cutting down on the prices and changing the atmosphere of the restaurant. High end prices for low-end service and food. -

We had my Moms 70th birthday party here on Tuesday 9/17/19. It was amazing. The food was great, you cannot beat the ambience nor the very attentive staff.
The bartender Mikey made me his famous "kill the princess" mango cocktail and it was delicious! I had the bone in ribeye which was cooked to the perfect medium I asked for, the calamari appetizer with a tad bit of horseradish tarter sauce that has a tiny kick-yum! We can't wait to go back. The views are gorgeous, the bar and entire restaurant have a very old school, masculine classy, warm &inviting vibe to it. Thank you to Jodie for making special menus & Maurice the owner for reserving the room off the main restaurant for our party of 13's comfort and fun. You MADE this a very memorable birthday for my Mom. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
